Daniel Clark's profile

NATIONAL WASP WWII MUSEUM

The National WASP WWII Museum began in 2002 with the vision of two women, WASP Deanie Bishop Parrish and her daughter, Nancy Parrish. They believed the history of the Women Airforce Service Pilots should be showcased at Avenger Field on the grounds where most of the WASP trained during World War II.

Approached to create their 2019 calendar mailer and other marketing premiums, including 80th anniversary logo for the WASP's.

Note: In previous years the museums other calendars featured the WAPS pilots as they are now. I wanted to create a piece that would pay homage to who they were in their hay day when the Army was desperate for pilots to deliver newly built trainer aircraft to the flight schools in the South. Twenty-eight experienced civilian women pilots volunteered to take those ferrying jobs. These women formed the country’s first female squadron late summer 1942.

All of the colors are and imagery are pulled from WWII era bond and war effort posters. The photographs of the women were all taken during. Everything was planned out in great detail so that you get a sense and feel for who these women were and what they had accomplished.

Total money raised from my work:  $100,000+
